Leighton Hall Auctions is celebrating an extraordinary milestone following day one of our November Antiques and Collectors auction on Friday, 21st November, the second "White Glove Sale" in the auction house's history.

A White Glove Sale is the ultimate achievement in the auction world, occurring when every single lot finds a buyer, a 100% sale rate that auctioneers dream of but rarely achieve. This remarkable feat was accomplished with a stunning single owner collection of 246 lots featuring rare Beswick horses, cattle, dogs, and exceptional Royal Doulton and Reg Johnson figures.

"This was one of my favourite collections to catalogue," said Toby, whose expertise helped showcase the exceptional quality of the pieces on offer. The collection attracted fierce bidding from collectors spanning the globe, with successful buyers calling in from Belgium, Sweden, America, Canada, Australia, and throughout the UK.

Star performers included a scarce Graham Tongue for Beswick model of 'Sykeslaw Helmsman', which achieved £650, whilst the iconic Beswick Dick Turpin on Black Bess achieved £230. A Beswick second version Stocky Jogging Mare proved particularly popular, selling for £400.

Graham Tongue for Beswick: a scarce model of 'Sykeslaw Helmsman', dated 1968, a believed one-off figue of a rough collie in matt, by Graham Tongue, a model of his own dog, which was never put into production, mounted onto wooden base

The white glove result demonstrates the enduring international appeal of quality Beswick and Royal Doulton collectables, and marked a triumphant start to Leighton Hall's November sale.
