Find out why now is the perfect time to dig through drawers, sheds and cupboards, and join us on 9th December for free expert valuations.
Residents of Cheshire are being invited to dig out their antiques and curios as Leighton Hall Auctions brings its popular Valuation & Consignment Day back to Onneley this winter.
The free drop-in event takes place on Tuesday 9th December 2025, from 10am to 12pm, at Onneley Village Hall, CW3 9QJ. Our friendly specialists will be on hand to offer no-obligation valuations on everything from gold and silver to coins, jewellery, pottery, militaria and more.
And if previous visits are anything to go by, locals could be sitting on some surprising gems.
At an earlier Onneley valuation day, one visitor brought along what seemed like an unassuming 19th-century Victorian coachman’s folding pocket knife, complete with cow-horn handles and its original case. Initially valued at £100–£150, the knife sparked fierce bidding when it reached auction, eventually selling for £680 to a buyer in Germany. A remarkable result for a piece that had been quietly tucked away in a drawer.

With pocket knives and traditional tools currently enjoying a surge in collector demand, Leighton Hall Auctions are encouraging visitors to check their sheds, toolboxes and cupboards, there could be hidden value waiting to be discovered.
No appointment is needed on the day, though a short wait is possible during busy periods. Those unable to attend can send photos for an online valuation via valuations@leightonhallauctions.com, WhatsApp 07376 039387, or by contacting the team on 01785 561799. More details can be found at www.leightonhallauctions.com.
Leighton Hall Auctions looks forward to welcoming visitors and uncovering the next unexpected discovery.
